Just call me Viv. Welcome to my blog. I'm a native New Yorker who has lived in all four corners of the United States--and the Caribbean.
From the very first holiday in latte land, it became my dream to move to Seattle. So in 1999 we packed our bags, said goodbye to Chicago and headed west--cat in tow--to gorgeous Washington State, final destination, Seattle, the Emerald City. I love this city to bits and count my blessings everyday to the powers that be that brought me to Seattle and allow me to live in this gorgeous place.
Seattle Bon Vivant is a very personal culinary chronicle of my adventures in cooking, baking, entertaining, eating local, dining out, perusing farmers markets, kitchen and gourmet shops around Seattle and the world.
This blog intends to be an unedited, sanguine, rose-colored and at times even informative account of things that I'm moved by, interested in and excited about. Idiosyncratic, at times boisterous, opinionated, with a hint of ego, a dash of voyeuristic self-indulgence, a plethora of run-on sentences and loads of exclamation points added for good measure.
Here at Seattle Bon Vivant we do not get paid for our opinion and prefer to keep this space an ad free blog. We dine, shop and travel on our own dime. We will rave about products, local vendors and restaurants we love but we are in no way associated with nor compensated by any of them. And we will speak often and highly of her family, friends and neighbors but will refer to them using first name initials.
