After yet another gorgeous day in Seattle, it was time for a little post-work schmoozing and neighborly camaraderie. We walked up the street, in the lovely cool afternoon breeze to Morton's of Chicago where a small group of us, neighbors and friends, met for drinks.
The evening was put together by our lovely concierge, Mr. K, who is always looking for new ways to keep us residents happy, coming up with all sorts of ideas and options on what to do and where to go around the neighborhood.
Not only does Morton's have one of the best steaks in town but also one of the best happy hour values anywhere (they offer the same menu in every city there is a Morton's). Order one of their $4 martinis and you get to enjoy delicious nibbles such as their mini-steak sandwiches, wild mushroom crostinis and crab cakes, all in a very sophisticated-- and very Chicago-- wood and brass supper club atmosphere.
I enjoyed my first Cosmopolitan so much (Mr. K is holding it for me while I took the picture) I ordered another one. The mini sandwiches were made with tiny soft buns and the most flavorful and tender steak with a mustardy mayo sauce.
The friendly staff at Morton's kept the appetizers coming and even gave us these little cards worth a free appetizer with our next meal. I've been craving their Godiva cake (their Godiva brownies are superb too) lately so I guess we will be back next soon.
