The Seattle Times review for the Basically Baroque series concert I attended with J last Friday (when I skipped cooking the IMBB? Terrine for Symphony) is as good as I imagined it would be. The concert's program Royal Fireworks Music & 'Brandenburg' Concerti was a perfect introduction to this amazing triple threat. Anthony Newman is not only a brilliant composer but also a conductor and talented keyboardist. He played both the harpsichord and the amazing Benaroya Watjen Concert Organ and made a new fan out of me. Our seats were fantastic too. We were really lucky. And, as our usher indicated to us on our way down, we would be close enough to inspect his cuticles. A great opportunity and perfect angle to enjoy Newman's bumblebee paced fingers on the clavier.
Next weekend: Mozart !
