Eureka! Fage Total Greek Yogurt is back in Seattle!
After six months of waiting with baited breath, at last, our dearest yogurt is back on Trader Joe's shelves! The Capitol Hill store is chock-a-block with 0%, 2%, yogurt/honey combo, full fat and the 500g tubs.
I felt like jumping up and down when I spotted the white, blue and red round containers on the top shelf earlier today.
I had to do a double take, blinking a couple times to make sure it was not a mirage. And yes, I left some behind and of course, I am still smiling! Now go get your own!

Now I have been avoiding basic yogurt like Dannon, Yoplait, and all the other basic yogurts for a long time because I have simply been sick of them. Their yogurt is watery, too sweet, and just yucky. Last week I was stuck in Laguardia airport because my flight was delayed and I was starving. I waited in line at the Cibo gourmet shop, grabbed an expensive sandwich and took note of a funky colored tub of Fage yoghurt. I was so hungry that I decided to give it a try. Well. I sat down, opened my tub of Fage yoghurt and was COMPLETELY floored! I couldn't spoon the stuff into my mouth fast enough. Holy mackeral...this stuff is amazing. It has a lovely consistency and texture and the taste is fabulous. The texture is like velvet. It's NOTHING like the typical yogurt brands. In fact, this yogurt is so good that I kept thinking about it on my flight and several days later! When I returned home from my trip, I made sure to look for it at my local Stop & Shop. Yes! I found it. I bought several tubs and immediately opened one up at home and found bliss again. Now, yogurt will be a regular part of my diet. Thank you Fage!

I live in Tampa and have enjoyed Fage greek yogurt in L.A. and New York. We have no Trader Joe's in Tampa and I have tried greek groceries and can't find it there either. Apparently it used to be available through Amazon (that's amazing) but now it's not. It is just the best.Anyone know where it might be in my vicinity?

in answer to gaelyns' post
"are there any especially good combinations of ingredients to
go with?" -
i was introduced to greek yogurt
about 15 years ago in england.
my friend served it with fresh
stewed, lightly sweetened rhubarb - a heavenly combination!
gooseberry preserve is nice. maple syrup might also be a
fitting partner for this luscious
yogurt.
'brown cow' and 'seven stars'
yogurts are also excellent.

Where can I purchase Fage Total Greek Yogurt in Naples, FL. I've tried at Fresh Foods and Wynn's both specialty markets, with no luck. Thanks

Yes, it really is that good. I missed it while it was gone. My husband is on a trip right now, and I missed the yogurt almost as much as I currently miss him!

The Man & I were sitting down with our bowls of 2% Total yogurt with Trader Joe's granola, and we decided to see if we could google a mention of why it was suddenly back in our lives, and came across your blog (the entry where you discovered they weren't selling it anymore). What a treat!
And now we find the entry where you discover it once again. We're extremely amused by how completely on fire people are about this stuff. Everyone at Trader Joe's was always despondent whenever we'd inquire after it's possible return, and it became a common experience way of introducing yourself to people "Did you get a chance to try..?" "Can you BELIEVE it's gone??"
I think I must have come across it in the store mere hours after its return here in Boston, because I ran home and immediately emailed everyone I knew within driving range of a Trader Joe's with "Greek Yogurt: It's BACK!" in the subject line (no message in the body) -and started to get phone calls from friends on their cells ON THEIR WAY to TJ's to get some before the rest of the world found out & cleared the shelves.
Man, that's some good stuff. :)

thanks for emailing me this piece of news, Viv. I am all behind on reading my foodblogs since being away + gruelling work schedule since my return.
I found some 2% at Wholefods, and even though I am on a diet, I got it anyway.
hooray - breakfast time is good again.

The only thing that is close to the greek yogurt is making your own. I make my own with whole milk and a donvier
yogurt maker. I set it for 10 hours 45 minutes, I get the absolutely best yogurt ever. I use a dolop of honey and
it's as good as the greek! viv... I really love your blog, thanks for the daily treat.
