There was not an empty seat in the house. After the screening Heather and Hanson had a Q&A session with the audience and yours truly got to meet the delightful Ms. Hughes.
The film was fantastic and reafirmed my conviction about an optimistic and bright near future where sustainable, local and small is not possible just for a minority here at home, in big cities and the West Coast but the first option for all educated consumers everywhere in the country.
And as the film shows, the key is for all of us to buy local , to pull together to support the independent bookseller and coffeehouse, the local retailer, grocer and restauranteur, the Metropolitan Market in Queen Anne and of course, here in Seattle, our Puget Sound farmers markets.
If you missed tonight's screenings at Central Cinema, you can always purchase a copy from the movie's website and at $15 it is a great price for a fantastic road trip across America's witnessing how mom and pop's around the country are battling it out against the big box bad wolves.
