Yes, I'm still mourning the lovely canelés I was able to purchase from Essential Bakery in Wallingford. But not since my last trips to Paris and Japan do I recall finding a better, more authentic version stateside, of one of my favorite pastries ever. To find it in Ballard is a bit of a schlep but one worth driving for.
Go to Honoré. Order a cup of you new best friend, Two Leaves and A Bud tea, a canelé or two. Repeat as often as necessary.
