Living in downtown Seattle with a hectic work and social schedule affords the opportunity to eat out on a weekly basis with a myriad of restaurants to choose from. There is something for every taste and budget, dress code and cuisine breakfast, lunch or dinner. Tea time or after theater, late night dining. From a simple bowl of steel cut oats to a bagel and lox. From fresh shucked Kumamotos on the waterfront to the amazing tasting menus at Rover's or Lampreia.
Yet again, as if we Seattleites required another incentive to go out more and take advantage of the exciting restaurant scene and culture in our foodie city here comes one more chance to indulge: "25 for $25" Dine Around Seattle is back!
Last spring we took advantage of this event and ate in as many restaurants as we could. Solo, with a friend or two or with a large party of 8 or twelve, mostly friends and neighbors from our building and neighborhood. Many of our long time favorite restaurants are participating again and we are so glad they are! We can still savor meals had at Earth & Ocean, Wild Ginger, Flying Fish, Andaluca, The Oceanaire, Restaurant Zoë and look forward to going to Kaspars, Serafina, Nishino and Yarrow Bay Grill--among others—this time.
It was a fantastic opportunity to see what local chefs were up to, take some risks, experiment and explore restaurants that normally we either eschew because of logistics (Who wants to schlep in car to Capitol Hill or the Eastside at night when one can walk anywhere down here for a fabulous meal?) or have not been to in a while or are just fairly new in the neighborhood.
The 25 for 25 ($12.50 at lunch) offers a wonderful selection of restaurants and a three course meal. How can you lose? So starting November 1st and until the end of the month, whether you choose Downtown, Ballard, Magnolia, Greenlake, Madison Park, Belltown or the Eastside, go out and eat and then come back and let us know about those meals and service!
