It is 12:10 in Seattle and most probably by now most of you have gone out to get lunch or are thinking of where to go. But just in case you have not made plans yet and find yourself near 4th & Virginia read on.
I was shopping at Ralph's earlier today for all the makings of my SHF entry which I plan to get to later today when it occurred to me that I was really hungry and the bakery was only a few steps away. So I thought of making a pit stop for a quick sandwich, the fuel for all the baking and caramel making ahead.
On the chalkboard was Irish Stew. Of course I had to take home some of that. Believe me, I really did have, if only for a second, the though of taking a photo of this beautiful stew but the hunger prevailed. My apologies!
All I have to say is that if you are craving a little comfort food, Irish or not, run, don't walk and get some of this stewy soup that I'm afraid will fast disappear from the menu as soon as this week is over.
It is loaded with carrots, creamy potatoes, fall apart corned beef with its salty bite, cabbage and a beautiful broth to boot. It comes, of course, with one of Dahlia's amazing rolls. It is so good my conscience would have bothered me if I did not tell you.
Believe me dear reader, I really did have--if only for a second--the though of taking a photo of this beautiful stew but hunger got the best of me. My apologies. ;-)
