For the first time since discovering the quiet gem that is Eats Market Café in West Seattle I went for the half serving ($5.25) of their Curried Chicken Salad for today's lunch. I'm so glad I did.
This has to be, by far, the best curried chicken salad I've had this side of Zabar's. They mix grilled chicken breast with carrots, red peppers, currants (I adore them!) and a curry dressing on a bed of chopped spinach, garnished with toasted almonds.
The baby spinach is ultra fresh, cut in a sort of "chiffonade" without a scintilla of bruising.
It is served with two slim slices of sourdough toast and is so perfect I'm sure I must have had a big grin and perhaps even uttered a few audible "mmm's" while savouring every bite.
Order the large one.
