Connie at DeLaurenti is bringing in Sevre & Belle, a Beurre Baratté Salé from Normandy (churned with sea salt crystals, $13.49 a pound) that is just amazing.
Absolutely creamy, full of delicious, complex flavor and with the perfect salt content for cooking simple vegetable and pasta dishes.
I just purchased a quarter of a pound of it and will be using a couple tablespoons --along with some olive oil-- later today to sautée some minced garlic, parsley and fresh market zucchini with.
The mixture will be then tossed with the fresh fettuccine (Nonna Maria's) purchased yesterday afternoon at the Columbia City Farmers Market.
*An aside while still here: It is a gorgeous day in the city, the flower stalls are in full Dahlia bloom, the market is packed with so many camera in hand visitors--it is in fact quite tricky to navigate the stalls and hallways with so many people at the market-- the Blue Angels are flying by leaving noisy white trails in the blue summer sky.
It is picture perfect! You should come over!
